Core Creative Receives Three BMA Awards
April 15, 2009
Core Creative, Inc. received two Bell Awards and one Excellence Award at the 2009 Business Marketing Association (BMA) Bell Awards. Award winners were recognized on April 7 at the Italian Community Center.
The biggest award of the night for Core Creative went to the work done for Milwaukee Electrical Tool. Core Creative received a Best of Division Bell Award in the Dimensional Single Mailer division and also received the high honor of runner up to best of show for the 3D mailer that was sent to 50 of the leading electrical contractors in the country. Core used the mailer, designed to look like an electrical panel, to house an invitation that welcomed contractors to a private showing of Milwaukee Electric Tool's new M12 cordless power tool battery system at an upcoming expo. The mailer also housed a free M12 battery. Respondents who brought the battery to the show and participated in a new product line presentation received a free matching tool. Sixty percent of recipients took advantage of this incentive, yielding very strong results.
Core won a Best of Division Bell Award in the Flat Single Mailer division with its entry of the Core Creative Cookbook, a Christmas card designed to spread some humor and holiday cheer. Rather than send a disgusting fruitcake, the agency provided the recipe for one ... along with 20 other distasteful family party recipes. The card encouraged readers to forward their favorite recipes from the card's matching microsite, somethingtastesfunnycookbook.com.
Lastly, Core Creative received an Excellence Award in the Public Relations/Single Effort division for their work done for Johnson Financial Group (JFG) on the "Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For" application. JFG is a family-owned company whose "family focus" extends to both its customers and all employees. Core leveraged their brand by applying a family heritage theme to all JFG application materials. The Great Place to Work Institute posed 18 questions, which Core helped answer - designing the responses in a 50+ page spiral bound family recipe cookbook. All other required JFG internal communications materials were placed in a giant picnic basket. After failing to qualify in past years, JFG was proud to climb 12 notches on the list from 37th in 2008 to 25th in 2009 - the two years Core Creative has helped answer the application.
The BMA Bell Awards annually recognize exceptional business-to-business marketing communications entries in multiple categories. The organization offers services, information, skill enhancement and networking opportunities that help its members grow, develop and succeed throughout their marketing careers.
