Charter Manufacturing, a family-owned steel and iron production company founded in the 1930s, believed that its internal culture was its strength, but was having difficulty recruiting new team members. The company approached Core to help uncover and elevate the close-knit connections that make its internal culture so exceptional — with the larger goal of increasing employee engagement and attracting new talent.
Through our 5D brand process, we uncovered meaningful insights on employee experience. Holding focus groups with current team members, we learned not only about the inherent values, but the strong family feeling that permeates the organization. “One Family. One Team,” became a new mantra that we launched internally through brand videos and team presentations.
After the team embraced the new messaging, we used it as a foundation for our strategic social media campaign, celebrating the success that prospective employees could achieve by joining the Charter team.
A testament to the success of our unique say it. live it.® approach, employees took pride in the new expression of the company’s culture, while job applications soared in response to the social media campaign — with nearly 1,000 potential applicants visiting the Charter website.
